Specification Comparion Description with MiD-360

Livox is about to launch an upgraded product, Mid-360S, to replace the current Mid-360. This update mainly involves the following adjustments:

Mechanical / Dimensional Updates

The overall enclosure dimensions remain unchanged.

The M12 circular connector position has been adjusted: recessed by 2 mm and moved up by 3 mm vertically (see the 2D drawing and 3D model comparison below).

Detailed tolerances have been added for all critical dimensions.

Software Compatibility

The new Mid-360S remains highly compatible at the software level. Updating Livox Viewer2 to v2.5.0, the SDK to v1.3.0, and the ROS driver to v1.2.5 will enable full support for the new product without any other complex software changes or system adjustments.

Product Status and Recommendations

Overall, Mid-360S is designed to serve as a drop-in replacement for Mid-360. The mounting method, interface definition, and communication protocol remain consistent between the two.

With a larger horizontal and vertical FOV of 360° and 59°,

the LiDAR creates extensive point cloud data to help robots make better decisions.

Upgraded with 3D sensing,

the Mid-360S captures comprehensive features of the environment to enable autonomous mapping and localization.
